ASHER - NM
DOB: 9/13/2024
Weight: 36 lbs
Breed: Rescued
Meet Asher! If you remember the stunning sisters Amanda and Aurora who passed through our doors in March, then get ready to fall head over heels for their equally lovable brothers: Asher, Alex, and Austin!
These three sweethearts, along with their two adopted siblings, came into rescue as an owner surrender after their momma dog found herself unexpectedly pregnant. (Don’t worry—Mom is now spayed and living her best life!) Now it’s time for these boys to follow in their sisters' pawprints and find families to call their own.
Their DNA may be a mystery, but one thing’s sure they’re packed with personality and puppy charm. These boys are full of playful energy, gentle hearts, and goofy antics. They love to romp and wrestle with other dogs and have been around cats, but their enthusiastic playstyle means they’d do best with dog-savvy felines or none at all.
Asher strikes us as a dog who is wise beyond his weeks. This soulful pup has the kind of eyes that seem to see right into your heart. He’s tender, calm, and makes everyone feel like his best friend.
They're still learning the ropes when it comes to walking on a leash and mastering potty training. BUT, they’re young, eager, and ready to soak up guidance and love. With their great temperaments, they’d thrive in active homes where they can run, explore, and get plenty of mental stimulation.
Asher has been neutered, microchipped and is up-to-date on his monthly preventatives and vaccines. Whether you’re ready for a gentle snuggler, a goofy go-getter, or a curious cuddlebug, one of these boys just might be your perfect match.

CORA - SF
DOB: 9/8/2024
Weight: 45 lbs
Breed: Golden Unicorn
Meet Cora! If you remember Bridget’s puppies (Dottie, Casey, Rowdy, and Heidi) from last December, then meet Cora. Cora is their long-lost sibling who had a rougher start than most.
Originally part of a litter of 12 found with their stray mama deep in the woods behind a kind woman’s farm in Tennessee, Cora’s story took a different turn. The woman was able to find homes for eight of the pups, and reached out to us to help the final four (Dottie, Casey, Rowdy and Heidi) find their forever families. We were successful.
Cora’s journey, however, took a detour when she thought she had a home with another family in Tennessee but was surrendered back to the owner of mama. She was too much of a puppy for them. At just 9 months old, Cora is absolutely still very much a puppy. Now she’s hoping for some commitment, stability, love, and someone who will cherish her forever.
Cora is a tender, sweet girl with a quiet soul. She may be a little reserved at first, but it's clear she wants to trust. Give her just a little time, and she’ll be nudging your hand for pets and ready to chase a toy across the yard. Once she bonds, she bonds hard. It’s clear Cora is ready to become someone’s loyal shadow, a girl who just needs a second chance.
She can be a bit indifferent about who she lets into her circle, but she’s never unkind. With a calm, confident fur sibling, she’ll thrive, and she’d likely do well with respectful children who understand gentle dogs need gentle love. Cora has been interested but good with our cats and we think with proper boundaries she would do fine with one in the home.
Cora has been spayed, microchipped and is up-to-date on her monthly preventatives and vaccines. This girl is ready to trade heartache for a life full of joy.

MAMA DEB - SF
Age: ~ 2 - 3 Years Old
Weight: 47 lbs
Breed: Soulful Mama Dog
Meet Mama Deb, a gentle soul who’s weathered the worst and still leads with love. When she was found, she was barely more than skin and bones, doing everything she could to keep her four newborn puppies alive. They were clinging to her for nourishment alone, while she herself had nothing. Just four days after they were pulled into rescue, the house they had been living in burned to the ground in a meth fire. It was a miracle they made it out when they did. Now Deb is ready to be the miracle that changes your world for the best.
Despite the horrors she’s survived, Mama Deb is pure tenderness. She’s the kind of dog who hugs you like she means it, melting into your arms like she’s finally found home. She has a playful spark too, a sweet reminder that she’s just beginning to claim the beautiful road of her journey that lies ahead.
More than anything, Deb wants to be close, to give and receive love in every moment she can. Her time in foster care has brought her back to a healthy weight and allowed her to feel safe and adored, but what she needs now is a forever family to spoil her for the rest of her life.
She’s good with other dogs, likely fine with respectful kids, and has never shown anything but sweetness. We don’t know how she feels about cats, but if they love snuggles as much as she does, she’ll probably get along just fine.
Mama Deb has been spayed, microchipped, and is up-to-date on vaccines and monthly preventatives. She is an extraordinary dog who has lived through so much neglect and come out the other side with nothing but love to give. Now all she needs is someone to give that love back.

PATCH - SF
Age: ~ 2 - 4 Years Old
Weight: 61 lbs
Breed: Snugglewink Woofdog
Meet Patch! Patch has a story etched in every inch of her, from her worn-down teeth to her soulful, winking gaze. Life hasn’t been easy for this girl. We believe she was likely kept in a kennel for far too long. Her teeth are ground down and her spirit has weathered more than her fair share of storms. But don’t let that fool you, Patch is still full of love and looking for someone to finally give it all back to.
This sweet soul came to us as a surrender at animal control and has clearly never known what it feels like to be someone’s beloved pet. But she's ready now. Despite the hardship, she’s a gentle, moderately active girl who loves nothing more than to be close to her human. She’s cautious at first but then quickly dishes out bashful kisses and soaks up affection like sunshine.
Patch has a congenital condition called microphthalmia. This means one of her eyes didn’t fully develop. It doesn’t hurt, it doesn’t need treatment, and it doesn’t slow her down. It just gives her a permanent wink that we think makes her even more endearing. Think of it as her way of saying, “I’ve been through it, but I’ve still got love to give.”
While she adores people, Patch is dog selective and doesn’t like to share her toys or food, so she’d do best as the only pet in your home. And honestly? After everything she’s been through, she deserves to be the center of someone’s universe.
She’s looking for a quieter home, maybe an older family or someone in their golden years, who wants a calm, loving companion to share life’s simple joys: couch cuddles, gentle strolls, and quiet afternoons filled with love.
Patch has been spayed, microchipped and is up-to-date on her monthly preventatives and vaccines. Patch may have had a rough past, but she’s got a beautiful future ahead. All she needs is a person to see her not for what she's been through, but for who she truly is. This loyal, affectionate, and resilient little lady has a whole lot of love left to give.

ALEX - NM
DOB: 9/13/2024
Weight: 36 lbs
Breed: Rescued
Meet Alex!
Alex is the life of the puppy party! He’s the most outgoing, playful, and can turn anything into a toy. He’s social, silly, and always up for fun.
They're still learning the ropes when it comes to walking on a leash and mastering potty training. BUT, they’re young, eager, and ready to soak up guidance and love. With their great temperaments, they’d thrive in active homes where they can run, explore, and get plenty of mental stimulation.
Alex has been neutered, microchipped and is up-to-date on his monthly preventatives and vaccines. Whether you’re ready for a gentle snuggler, a goofy go-getter, or a curious cuddlebug, one of these boys just might be your perfect match.

DOB: 9/13/2024

Austin is a sweet, shy guy with a curious spark. Austin is a little nervous when he’s on his own. We feel it would be important for him to have another confident dog in the home to help guide him. Once he trusts you though, Austin becomes your loyal little shadow. He wants to be so close to you, he almost tries to get into your skin.

JESS - SF
Age: ~ 1 - 3 Years Old
Weight: 47 lbs
Breed: Mama Dog
Jess was spotted at a high-kill shelter, quietly curled up as an unclaimed stray...except she wasn’t alone. She was carrying a very special surprise: a belly full of puppies. Thanks to some amazing rescue teamwork, Jess made it safely to us just in time to give birth and raise her precious little ones (Bear, Cinder, Chiba, and Cuddles—maybe you remember them from their short time at SGH a few weeks ago?). Now that her pups have all found wonderful homes, it’s finally Jess’s turn to be someone’s baby.
Jess is a sweet, loving girl hoping to find a family who will give her the continued patience and love she needs to thrive. We don't think Jess has spent much time in a home, but over the last few weeks during her time with us, she's been fortunate enough to go on lots of outings with a dedicated volunteer to help build her confidence and show her what the good life is all about.
Jess is extremely smart and liver treats, cheese sticks and positive reinforcement are her love language. She's already learned sit, down and place. She's very motivated to learn and is quick study. Jess also is comfortable in a crate and it's been a great tool for helping her to feel safe while being in a home.
Jess enjoys going on walks and sniffing out lots of critters. She's moderately active but she's got a mix of breeds that indicate she's a dog that has to work - so mental stimulation and exercise will go a long way to keep her content.
Jess is mostly house-trained (though like any pup adjusting to a new space, a few accidents are to be expected). She’s been with us in rescue since December, through pregnancy, motherhood, her spay, and she’s ready for her next big chapter.
Jess rides well in the car and is always eager for an outing. If left to her own devices, Jess may try to chew on things she shouldn't, but she's learning that bones are better than furniture. A little training and structure for this girl will go a long way. We don't think she's experienced much kindness in the past and now deserves it all.
When it comes to other animals, Jess would thrive as the only dog in the home. She's cool with cats though. Jess has been proven to do well with kids of all ages and has even lived with children. We think older, dog-savvy kiddos would be best in her future home.
Jess has had a tough time adjusting to the kennel environment and we don't blame her. We'd love to get this girl into a home so she can finally experience what having a loving family is like. She's incredibly sweet-natured, affectionate, and ready to share her heart with a family of her own.
**As Jess is one of our longer term, overlooked residents one of our volunteers has graciously offered to sponsor her adoption fee.**
Jessica has been spayed, microchipped, and is up-to-date on her vaccines and monthly preventatives. Now all she needs is someone who sees her heart and wants to help her write her happy ending.

LOLA - SF
Age: ~ 1+ Years Old
Weight: 90 lbs
Breed: Great Pyrenees
Meet Lola! This beautiful girl was surrendered to us after her previous home in the city proved too small for her needs. Lola is now ready for a fresh start with a family who understands what a special girl she is.
With a heart full of love and a playful spirit, this sweet girl thrives outside lounging one moment and playing the next. She’s wonderful at entertaining herself and delights in her own zoomies. She would adore a family that finds her silly soul just as endearing as we do.
Lola is fully potty trained, although she prefers to take care of business in the yard rather than on a leash. Hey, everyone has their quirks! Her ideal home would include a large, secure yard where she can roam and explore to her heart’s content.
She’s lived with young children and done beautifully with them. When it comes to other animals, Lola would prefer to be the only dog in the home. She could potentially live with cats, but they’ll need to be dog-savvy. Her playful attempts to engage sometimes come across as a bit much but she means no harm.
Lola needs a dog-savvy owner who understands and appreciates the Great Pyrenees breed. Having grown up on a farm, her guardian instincts are strong. She’s protective of her home and family, which can sometimes include a bout of barking in the middle of the night. She means well and simply needs patient guidance and consistent training to help her channel her instincts appropriately.
Lola is deep, soulful, and reassuring. She’s the kind of dog that makes you feel safe, loved, and fiercely protected. Lola hasn’t been given a fair shot in her past, but we believe the right home is out there, one that will give her the love, structure, and chance she deserves.
Lola has been spayed, microchipped and is up-to-date on her monthly preventatives and vaccines. Lola is a loving, loyal companion just waiting for the right family to give her the space, freedom, and love she deserves. Because sometimes, the best things in life come in very big, very fluffy packages.

JAYLEN - NM
Age: ~ 10 - 12 Months Old
Weight: 34 lbs
Breed: Rescued
*Must have another dog in the home
*Must have fenced-in yard
*Must have experience with fearful dogs
Cats: Yes
Kids: No
Meet the most gentle soul with a heart full of potential, Jaylen. Jaylen’s story began in uncertainty. He was abandoned alongside his mother and two siblings, left at a stranger’s home with no explanation. Thankfully, this little family found their way into the loving care of our fosters in Tennessee, and mom and both siblings have since found their forever homes. But Jaylen’s path has been a little different…a little slower, and a little more tender.
While his siblings blossomed quickly, Jaylen held back, unsure of the world around him. It became clear that what he needed most was time, patience, and a calm environment to help him feel safe. After placing him in a foster home for several weeks, Jaylen made steady progress and is slowly learning to trust.
Jaylen is still a very cautious and sensitive dog. He startles easily and can be wary of new people, especially men (hats seem to be particularly suspicious in his book!). But here’s the beautiful part: behind his nervousness is a deeply affectionate, loyal boy who wants to connect. He’s been bravely showing us that love is in there, just waiting for the right person to help him bring it out.
This special guy is looking for an equally special home. A home that’s quiet, predictable, and experienced with fearful dogs. A confident canine companion would be most ideal for Jaylen. He needs a guide to show him the ropes, offer comfort, and to engage him with the play sessions he craves with other canines. A low-traffic household without young children is a must, as too much commotion is still overwhelming for him.
Jaylen’s ideal person will be someone who sees progress in small victories: the tail wags, the gentle paw placed on your chest, and the meaningful kisses. Someone who understands that trust is earned, and that the slow journey to love is the most rewarding of all. With treats (he’s very food motivated!) and positive reinforcement, Jaylen is already learning that people can be kind and safe.
While he’s still working on building confidence outside the home, Jaylen has started to enjoy leash walks especially when he has a canine friend by his side. A fenced-in yard would be a big bonus for him, giving him a safe space to decompress and feel free. He does well in his crate and barely had an accident during his time in his foster home.
We know Jaylen may never be the kind of dog you take with you everywhere, but in the right hands, he will be someone’s heart dog. He’s the type of dog who looks at you like you hung the moon, because you took the time to show him that love doesn’t have to hurt.
Jaylen is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives. We’re open to a foster-to-adopt arrangement to ensure the best fit for both Jaylen and his future family.
If you're the kind of person who finds joy in quiet moments and understands the deep reward of helping a him learn how to feel safe, Jaylen just might be your perfect match. His journey isn’t finished, but maybe you’re the missing piece.

POSEY - F
Age: ~ 4.5 Months Old
Weight: 22 lbs
Breed: Rescued
Meet Posey! It’s hard to believe, but this entire litter of seven and their devoted mama were dumped in a crate at the end of someone’s driveway. No note. No names. Just a beautiful batch of 7 wide-eyed babies all huddled together, trying to make sense of the world. But if there's one thing rescue has taught us, it’s that the most unexpected beginnings can lead to the most beautiful journeys.
They arrived at our shelter timid and unsure, and it’s clear these pups are still learning how to feel safe around people and their surroundings. Their trust might not come overnight, but when it does? It’s magic. And we see little glimmers of it already. Underneath their shy exteriors are smart, silly, affectionate pups ready to connect with someone special.
Posey is a delicate bloom, still learning to unfold. Posey is still figuring out the world. She likes to observe first and watch with quiet curiosity as her braver siblings dive in. Her soft eyes will quietly follow you from a distance. She’s the kind of pup who doesn’t rush into your arms, but her tail starts to wag at the sight of you and with each passing day, that brave little spark inside her burns just a bit brighter.
We know that once Posey finds her person and a confident canine companion to show her the ropes she’ll blossom into the kind of dog who never leaves your side. Posey doesn’t need noise or chaos. She needs patience, understanding, and a family who sees the beauty in the becoming. With the right support, she’ll transform into your loyal shadow with one quiet step at a time.
They are all gentle learners with voices of their own and hearts just waiting to connect. We feel these pups would do best in dog-savvy homes, places where love is patient and understanding runs deep. With time, routine, and positive experiences, they are bound to surprise you.
Posey has been microchipped and is up-to-date on her monthly preventatives and age-appropriate vaccines. Dogs are resilient beyond belief. And these seven? They’ve already proven how strong they are. So if you’re ready to open your home (and your heart) to a blank slate who’s just waiting to be written into your story, maybe Posey is your perfect page one.
