LUCKY - NM
AGE: ~ 1 Year Old
WEIGHT: 57 lbs
BREED: The Gentleman’s Field Retriever
Meet Lucky! Some dogs get names that fit them perfectly. Lucky is one of them. Once an unclaimed stray, this handsome guy wandered his way into rescue…and lucky for us, he did.
Lucky is the kind of dog people notice. The kind where someone walks by and says, “Wow… that’s a really nice dog.” And they’d be absolutely right. He has an incredibly sweet temperament, a soft, people-loving heart, and that happy-go-lucky presence that just makes you feel good being around him.
He gives us strong Lab vibes, although we can only tell you he’s a mystery mutt. He’s affectionate, loyal, always wanting to be near his people. He’s very people-oriented and happiest when he’s part of whatever you’re doing. He’s happy to supervise (or even help) with gardening in the summertime and always ready to share the couch with you in the winter.
This rugged gentleman does well with other dogs, but cats are still unknown. We think he could do well with dog-savvy kids who understand he’s an active guy. He’ll need a family willing to give him time, attention, exercise, and enrichment so he can settle in and truly thrive. He’s mostly house trained, though he likely hasn’t had much experience as a true house dog so continued structure will help him shine.
Lucky is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines and monthly preventatives. Hang in there Lucky, because the next chapter of your story? It’s going to be the best one yet.

WAYLON - NM
AGE: ~ 1 - 2 Years Old
WEIGHT: 56 lbs
BREED: Golden Eyed Adonis
Meet Waylon! Waylon’s story began with sudden change. After a divorce turned his family’s world upside down, five dogs were left needing safety and stability. Waylon was one of the four who made his way north to us, while the remaining female, currently pregnant, will stay in Tennessee until she’s ready to travel.
Though his past shifted quickly, Waylon hasn’t let it harden his heart. This handsome golden adonis likely has a bit of hound in him. You can see it in his expression and his love for stretching those long legs. He would thrive in a home outside of the city where he can enjoy space to run, explore, and get all of his joyful zoomies out. While we’re open to an active family in the city, Waylon is a farm boy at heart who has spent very little time living inside a home. That means there will be lots of new sights, sounds, and experiences for him to learn. He would thrive with an extra supportive, patient family willing to guide him through those adjustments and help him build confidence as he settles in.
He’s a young, active guy who will do best with regular exercise and enrichment, but underneath that playful energy is a very sweet, very people-oriented soul. Waylon is good with other dogs and cats, and we think he’d do well with dog-savvy kids who understand his active nature. He’s potty trained, doing well with crate training, and working on his leash skills. He’s eager to learn and enjoys having direction and structure.
Waylon has a confident presence, but it’s beautifully balanced by the most adorable submissive smile. His cheesy grin is the kind that melts you instantly and reminds you he’s just a big softie at heart. Waylon has lived and jived with other dogs, though he may do best paired with a female companion or as the only dog soaking up all the attention, a meet-and-greet will always help determine the best fit.
Waylon Lucky is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines and monthly preventatives. He is currently Lyme positive and being treated with medication. He’s expected to move forward happy and healthy. Waylon is looking for a steady place to land. A place where he can run free, love deeply, and finally feel home. Could that place be with you?

TINY - NM
AGE: ~ 1 - 2 Years Old
WEIGHT: 57 lbs
BREED: Cinnamon Trail Buddy
Meet Tiny. Tiny’s rescue story began after a sudden divorce turned life upside down, and five dogs found themselves needing safety and stability. Tiny was one of the four who made his way north to us, but one remains as she is currently pregnant and will remain in Tennessee until she’s safely delivered her babies, weaned them and is medically cleared to travel and start her own new chapter.
And while his name may be Tiny… there is absolutely nothing tiny about this boy’s heart. Tiny is a young, active guy with plenty of playful energy, but what stands out most is his gentle, submissive nature. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t need to be the center of attention. He just wants to feel safe, close, and chosen. There’s a softness to him, a quiet “please love me” in his eyes that tells you he’s still figuring out where he belongs.
He enjoys playtime and romping around, but he’ll just as happily melt into you for a long, heartwarming cuddle. He’s still learning what toys are all about, but once he warms up, you can see the playful spark building. With encouragement, structure, and fun, his confidence will only continue to grow.
Tiny is good with other dogs, good with cats, and would likely do well with dog-savvy kids who understand his sensitive, sweet nature. He’s potty trained, doing well with crate training, and working on his leash skills. He’s very people-oriented and bonds deeply once he knows he’s safe. It truly seems as though he’s just waiting for someone to show him this is home now. That he’s staying and that he’s forever loved.

JINGLES - M
AGE: ~ 1 - 2 Years Old
WEIGHT: 47 lbs
BREED: The Honey Blaze Companion
Meet Jingles! Jingles’ story began with sudden change. After a divorce turned his family’s world upside down, five dogs were left needing a safe place to land. Jingles was one of the four who made his way north to us. The remainder of the crew is currently pregnant and will remain in Tennessee until she’s safely given birth, weaned and medically cleared to travel and begin her own fresh start.
Despite the upheaval, Jingles has held onto his sweetness. He’s a young, active guy with a spunky streak, but there’s a softness to him too. At first, he can be a little shy, but it’s the kind of shy that just needs a gentle voice and a little patience. Take it slow with him, and you’ll watch something beautiful happen. His confidence builds. His tail loosens. Playfulness takes over. And before you know it, he’s bonded to you in the most loyal, heart-melting way.
Jingles is very people-oriented and thrives on connection. He’s good with other dogs, good with cats, and we believe he’d do well with dog-savvy kids who understand that trust is something you build, not rush. He’s potty trained, doing well with crate training, and working on his leash skills like a champ.
He is currently Lyme positive and being treated with medication, and because of this, his date to be neutered was delayed. Therefore, he will be neutered through our organization making his adoption fee $750. His neuter date at VUCC in Dedham is currently TBD. With Lyme treatment underway, he’s expected to move forward healthy and happy.
Jingles is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines and monthly preventatives. He’s the kind of dog who will bloom in the right home that offers play, structure, encouragement, and lots of love. This joyful, affectionate companion is just waiting to shine.

ROBIN - SF
AGE: ~ 2 Years Old
WEIGHT: 68 lbs
BREED: Frosted Freckle Foxhund
Meet Mama Robin! Robin surrendered to animal control and unsure of what would come next, she gave birth just one week later once safely in rescue to a litter of 13 puppies. Tragically, only 11 survived, but those 11 made their way north on our very first transport this year as our adorable, fluffy “R” pups. They’ve all begun their new chapters. Now it’s Mama Robin’s turn.
From what we can tell, Robin has likely had multiple litters in her lifetime, but her body has done enough mothering for a hundred lifetimes. Thankfully, she has now been spayed and will never have to endure that again. The chapter of constant giving is closed. This next one is finally about her.
Robin can be a little shy at first, especially when meeting new people. The world hasn’t always been kind to her, so she takes a moment to make sure you are. But give her a little time, a gentle voice, a soft place to land and you’ll see her blossom. Beneath that initial hesitation is a girl who is just as sweet as peaches.
She loves to wrap her paws around her people in the softest hugs, leaning in as if to say, “Thank you for keeping me safe.” She’s good with other dogs, cats are unknown, and she would likely do best with slightly older, dog-savvy kids who understand how to be gentle with a sensitive soul who’s been through more than most. She’s still polishing up with training, but with calm guidance she’ll find her way quickly.
Robin will be happy to enjoy lots of walks, fresh air, and all of the quiet moments she can get with her humans. More than anything, she deserves consistency, kindness, and a home where she is cherished not for what she can give, but simply for who she is.
Robin has been spayed, microchipped, and is up-to-date on her vaccinations and monthly preventatives. Could you give this beautiful girl the peaceful, loving future she’s always deserved?

APOLLO - NM
AGE: ~ 12 - 14 Weeks Old
WEIGHT: 17 lbs
BREED: Pocket Potato
Meet Apollo! Apollo is part of our spirited “A” Team litter, one of 5 in a lively crew of spitfires who were found alone in the street and ended up in an overcrowded shelter before rescue stepped in. Despite their rough start, they have blossomed into joyful, energetic little firecrackers.
Apollo may be playful and full of puppy energy, but he has a softer side that sets him apart. He loves to be held, happily melting into your arms with a sweet, inquisitive expression. He’s curious about the world but always checks back in for reassurance and cuddles.
He’ll still need all the structure, enrichment, and patience that come with raising a young pup, but Apollo’s affectionate nature makes it extra rewarding. Likely medium-sized when grown, he would fit beautifully into any family ready to take on puppyhood with love and commitment.
Apollo has been neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on his age-appropriate vaccines and monthly preventatives. Could Apollo, or one of her absolutely adorable “A” Team pals, be the perfect match you’ve been waiting for?

Aggie will do wonderfully in a family ready to invest in puppy training, structure, and all the joyful madness that comes with it. With continued love and guidance, she’s going to grow into a fantastic medium-sized companion.

BITSY - SF
AGE: ~ 1 Year Old
WEIGHT: 49 lbs
BREED: Barbie Girl Babe
Meet Bitsy! Bitsy first came to rescue quite small and pitiful. Her hair was falling out and she had a rash all over her body from a flea infestation. She had been living a life where she had to fend for herself along with several other dogs before she found her way into rescue. She finally received the care she desperately needed and has since grown into the most gorgeous golden girl.
Bitsy resembles a Carolina Dog but we can’t be sure of her breed. Has lots of energy and plays well with everyone (including dogs and cats, but can be a bit rough and playful with them). She’s never been around children and because of her activity levels, older kids who can take her on walks and play with would be ideal.
Bitsy loves to be showered with attention and is probably the most energetic and happiest dog you’ll ever meet. She truly deserves someone who is ready to give her the best life ever. Bitsy does wonderfully with people and her foster mother even took her to a nursing home to visit and love on other people. She’s also a dream in the car which will make adventures an absolute pleasure.
Bitsy is looking for a patient family or adopter who will be kind and give her the training she needs to thrive. She needs some work with manners, but she’s food motivated which will help kick her into working mode. She does know how to sit, stay, break and crate but can be a little stubborn so again…food will be yours and hers best friend. She’s house trained and crate trained, but still a bit of a puller on the leash. Great that she’s crate trained as she is a bit of a chewer.
Bitsy has been spayed, microchipped and is up-to-date on her vaccines and monthly preventatives. Her foster dreams that she finds her way to someone who will love her unconditionally and give her the best life ever. Of course, we truly hope the same. Could that be with you?

BON BON - F
DOB: 11/6/2025
WEIGHT: 15 lbs
BREED: Legacy Lovehound
EXPECTED SIZE: Large (55 - 70 lbs)
This is a story we hope you read all the way through. During the legal seizure of nearly thirty dogs living in heartbreaking conditions, our rescue partners at BarkPlace4Dogs in TN were able to take in three mothers and sixteen babies. Mama Xena was the first to be freed from her chain, along with her nine tiny, two-week-old puppies.
These are the very babies you see here today. Our Valentine’s Chocolates and Mama Xena’s legacy. Xena’s life before rescue was nothing short of devastating. She had been tied to a post for years, a heavy chain cutting into her neck with every movement. Her only shelter was a broken plastic crate with a damp rug thrown over it. She was painfully thin. She was suffering from advanced heartworm disease. Her body was already failing.
And yet, even in her condition, Xena fought to keep all nine of her babies alive. When she had nothing left for herself, she gave everything to them. She fed them. Cleaned them. Pulled them close when they cried. She poured every ounce of her remaining strength into making sure they were safe.
When the day came that Xena let go, it became heartbreakingly clear she had been holding on for one reason only: her puppies. She passed peacefully, surrounded by love and kindness, knowing her nine beautiful lives were cared for and now they will carry her legacy forward.
Animal abuse remains a painful, ongoing battle. In the rural parts of Tennessee where many of our dogs come from, pursuing charges can be difficult and often goes nowhere. It shouldn’t be this way. Xena deserved better. They all do. But today, because of rescue, because of fosters, because of compassion, Xena’s story continues on in the sweetest way possible.
After such a rough beginning, these 9 pups have blossomed into happy, active, affectionate little loves. They are playful, resilient, and full of life. They’re proof that even the darkest beginnings can lead to something beautiful.
They will need families ready for all things puppy: training, structure, exercise, patience, and a lifelong commitment. But in return? You’ll get a loyal companion and the honor of carrying forward the legacy of a warrior mother. Xena fought so her babies could have a future. Now it’s their turn to shine. Are you ready to welcome home one of these warrior puppies and be part of Xena’s legacy?

CLEMENTINE - F
AGE: ~ 1 Year Old WEIGHT: 32 lbs BREED: Barnyard Butterbean Meet Clementine! Clementine and her siblings were left behind on a farm, abandoned and unsure of what their future would hold. Thankfully, the compassionate people living there stepped in, offering safety and giving these three the second chance they deserved. Now, they’re simply sweet babies trying to find their footing in a world that hasn’t always felt steady. These pups are incredibly good-natured and gentle. They can be quite submissive at first, possibly a reflection of their uncertain start, but that softness comes with something beautiful: they are eager to please, deeply affectionate, and truly crave connection. They look to their people for reassurance and direction, and when they start to feel safe? Their little wiggles are almost impossibly adorable. Clementine and her siblings are moderately active and playful, enjoying bursts of puppy fun balanced with quiet moments of cuddles. They are looking for families who can help them continue building confidence and show them what it means to feel secure and loved. Because they haven’t had much structure early on, they will need patient, committed adopters willing to guide them through training, provide enrichment and exercise, and help them grow into well-rounded companions. With consistency, positive reinforcement, and time, these gentle souls are going to blossom beautifully. Clementine and her siblings are microchipped and up-to-date with their vaccinations and monthly preventatives. Tinsel is scheduled to be spayed through our organization at VUCC in Dedham on March 16th making her adoption fee $750. Adopters must honor this date in order to finalize the adoption. They’ve already survived more than they should have had to. Now they’re ready for homes where they can truly shine. Could one of these wigglebugs be your perfect match?

ROLO - M
DOB: 11/6/2025
WEIGHT: 24 lbs
BREED: Legacy Lovehound
EXPECTED SIZE: Large (60 - 80 lbs)
