Meet Austin! Austin came into rescue as part of an unplanned litter, surrendered alongside his siblings after their mom had a surprise pregnancy. While his early days were spent running freely in the quiet countryside, the transition to the wider, noisier world has been a big adjustment and Austin is still learning to feel safe in it.
We thought Austin needed another dog to help him navigate the world. But after a short time in what we thought was the perfect foster home, Austin indicated that more than a dog, he just needs a dedicated person. Austin bonded very quickly with his foster mom, but it’s clear he’s still working through his own insecurities and would appreciate someone’s full attention to help him feel safe, supported, and seen.
Austin has come a long way since arriving at the shelter and he absolutely thrived in just a week in foster care. His journey has been slow, but every step forward has been pure magic. Meet Austin! Austin came into rescue as part of an unplanned litter, surrendered alongside his siblings after their mom had a surprise pregnancy. While his early days were spent running freely in the quiet countryside, the transition to the wider, noisier world has been a big adjustment and Austin is still learning to feel safe in it.
We thought Austin needed another dog to help him navigate the world. But after a short time in what we thought was the perfect foster home, Austin indicated that more than a dog, he just needs a dedicated person. Austin bonded very quickly with his foster mom, but it’s clear he’s still working through his own insecurities and would appreciate someone’s full attention to help him feel safe, supported, and seen.
