Meet Buffy! Buffy’s journey is one of true resilience and heart. When she was first found, she was painfully thin and scared of just about everything. The world had clearly not been kind to her. She’d flinch at sudden movements, duck her head in fear, and tense up on walks. But with love, good food, and patience, Buffy has blossomed into a confident, affectionate, and wildly fun companion.
Now at a healthy weight, this bouncy girl is full of life and joy. She’s an energetic firecracker who adores toys, water play (hose streams are her favorite!), and giving full-body hugs paired with enthusiastic kisses. If you’re looking for a dog who loves hard and plays even harder, Buffy’s your girl.
Buffy is still learning to share and can be protective of her food, understandable given her past of being just skin and bones. Meet Mama Delta! This girl has the heart of a survivor. Delta’s story is not an easy one to tell, but it’s one that deserves to be heard. She came from an unthinkable situation where her former owner, deep in the grip of drug addiction, kept several dogs in a tiny 10x10 pen and neglected them terribly. When our southern rescue partners first tried to help, he refused to surrender any of the dogs. By the time Delta and her litter were finally released, it was too late for most of her puppies. Out of ten, only four survived. Six tiny lives lost to starvation.
It took persistence, compassion, and the courage of a kind neighbor and our rescue team to finally bring Delta and her remaining pups to safety. For the first time in her life, she has clean water, a warm place to rest, and gentle hands that show her love instead of harm. Regardless, for a dog who’s known so little kindness, Delta’s heart remains unbelievably gentle.
Despite all she’s endured, Delta is pure grace. She’s shy and cautious at first, but once she feels safe, she leans in for affection and melts under gentle pets. Her amber eyes tell a story of pain, yes, but also of hope and quiet strength. Every day she opens up a little more, learning that the world can be kind.
Delta is still learning the ropes of home life. She’s working on her leash manners, and since she’s likely never lived indoors, her potty training is still in progress. She seems good with other dogs, has not been cat-tested, and would do best in a patient, dog-savvy home outside the city. Because she can be a bit timid, older children (if any) would be best.
This girl has known loss no creature should ever experience, but she’s still incredibly gentle, forgiving, and full of heart. She’s a quiet reminder of why rescue matters.

Jesse is one in a litter of seven puppies who, along with their mom, were surrendered to Animal Control. When their future looked uncertain, a kind-hearted cat rescue stepped in to save them from euthanasia (yes, a cat rescue… how’s that for teamwork?). Their mom has since been taken in by another rescue, and now it’s time for the first three in the litter to find their happily ever after. We’ll see the next four in their crew on our next transport!
Jesse is everything you’d expect from a healthy, happy puppy. He’s super wiggly, super fun, and full of that irresistible puppy energy! He’s friendly, outgoing, and already mastering the art of being a lovable little goofball.
Jesse does great with other dogs, and while his experience with cats and kids is unknown, his sweet, social nature suggests he’ll fit right in with families who take the time to make thoughtful introductions.
