JOE - NM
Age: ~ 1 Year Old
Weight: 35 lbs
Breed: Wheelin Heelin’ Heelers
Meet Joe! Joe’s story almost ended before he ever had a chance to live it. He and his brother Charlie were threatened with being shot if homes couldn’t be found for them, but rescue stepped in just in time. Today, Joe is safe, loved, and ready to start a brand-new life with a family who will cherish him the way he’s always deserved.
Joe is everything we love about Heelers: athletic, energetic, smart, and full of personality. Outside, he’s a whirlwind of fun. He’s springy, playful, and famously bouncy. Inside, though, he settles beautifully and enjoys being calm and connected with his people.
Despite the rough handling he endured before coming to us, Joe remains unbelievably sweet. A few of his mannerisms suggest he may have been hit in the past, but with gentle reassurance he opens up quickly, showing you his affectionate, goofy side. He’s crate trained, great with other dogs, and eager to bond. Cats are unknown, and because he’s a true working-breed dog, a home without young children is best.
Joe would thrive with an active couple, a herding-breed–experienced owner, or anyone who understands the Heeler brain and loves a dog with energy, smarts, and soul. He’s a lot of dog, but he’s a lot of heart, too.
Joe has been neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations and monthly preventatives. Ready to give a big-hearted boy a second chance? Joe can’t wait to bounce his way into your life.

BELLA - SF **PENDING ADOPTION**
Age: ~ 2 Years Old
Weight: 75 lbs
Breed: Midnight Moose
Meet Bella! Ready for a boisterous, lovable sweetheart? This beautiful girl was surrendered to us after her previous owner, an avid cat rescuer, realized that Bella avidly despised cats and that it wasn’t worth the risk to keep her.
From the moment Bella arrived at Shultz’s, she instantly won over our volunteers with her sunshine personality. She looks and acts like a classic Labrador: friendly, goofy, exuberant, and absolutely thrilled to meet every person she sees. She’s a big girl with an even bigger heart, always ready to lean in for love or flop over for attention.
Bella is mostly house trained but still working on mastering all the details. She’s learning crate training too and will thrive in a home willing to continue her routines and help her polish her manners.
She’s a high-energy, very active girl who will need an outlet for both her body and her brain. Whether she’s playing fetch, going on adventures, or tumbling around the yard, Bella loves being on the move.
While she lived peacefully with dogs, cats are a definite no-go for this girl.Because of her size and enthusiasm, she would do best in a home with older kids, if any, who are comfortable with a big, bouncy companion.
Bella has been spayed and is up-to-date on her monthly preventatives and vaccines. With structure, consistency, and plenty of love, Bella will blossom into a wonderful, loyal family companion. She already has a fan club here, now she just needs a family of her own.
